NMU Future Educator
Students interested in the teaching/education field have an opportunity to apply for a scholarship to attend NMU's Future Educator Academy. NHS has been given the opportunity to award one interested student with the cost of the registration fee ($499) so they may attend the academy. The registration fee includes campus housing, meals and transportation for field experiences.

NMU's Future Educator Academy is a residential camp for high school students who are considering going into the teaching/education field. Camp dates are July 7-12, 2024 where you will learn about the teaching profession, interact with educators, students at NMU, and elementary aged children, live on NMU's campus and experience campus life. University of Michigan GROE Program
Attention 10th and 11th grade students interested in the University of Michigan. They are offering a program for anyone interested in learning about various college options and planning your steps after high school. It is an all expense paid program that includes a virtual mini course, a weekend long overnight to U of M Ann Arbor and personalized coaching for college and career planning. EAGLE MINE SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITY
Eagle Mine would like to provide the 2024 graduates, 18-year-old students, with an opportunity to experience and gain knowledge in the mining industry. Eagle Mine is looking to recruit local students to work at the mine and mill sites as paid summer students. This summer program will give students the ability to work in several departments at our two locations. Current openings are within the maintenance, operations, mobile maintenance, and water treatment plant facilities. They will work closely with our employees and get first-hand experience in what it takes to be a responsible miner.
As you know, Eagle Mine prides themselves on safety standards for both employees and those in the surrounding community. They are continuing to redefine the way the mining industry protects the environment, safeguards its people, and strives to be the best community partner.
